These are a list of great free Shopify themes that you can build your store around it. For those who don’t know Shopify is one of the biggest eCommerce platform where people can host their own online store and start their own e-commerce business either selling their own products, or their own retail products, or even offer their own business services and or something else.
Due to its popularity, plenty of Shopify themes and apps came along with it. As well as both free and paid ones.
Also, Shopify isn’t going down anytime soon. It only keeps growing!

Are there any free Shopify Themes out there?
Sadly there aren’t a lot of free Shopify themes out there compared to premium ones. Free Shopify themes do not offer support and usually, when it comes to the functions and features, they are quite limited. On top of that many of them are not updated regularly to keep up with the latest Shopify updates, or some of them don’t get that at all. Because of all of that, free themes get mixed-bag with the reviews.
Should I go with the Premium Shopify theme or start with the free one?
It would be a good idea to invest in premium Shopify themes if you’re very serious about having a long-term e-commerce business which will also give you more flexible control over the themes, usually offers support and many other reasons why so.
I’m not saying free Shopify themes doesn’t work, they do work and you can still create really great functional stores. You can even keep the free theme as long as you can for that matter. If you’re just starting out, or don’t have a lot of budget, then definitely go with the free ones. It all comes down to your choice of what you make, at the end of the day.
This is just more to be aware if you do run into those problems and you need to know what you’re actually doing to make it work. So try to test free themes and see which one would suit your store well.

Star is a simply stunning free Shopify theme from Outlane. Perfectly made for your first Shopify store. This theme allows you to customize the appearance by adjusting colors, typography and setting up these sections. Along with that, it also has great ajax feature being displayed in a home and product page giving it a nice touch to your online store page.
Ajax allows product images to change with just a mouse interaction without you having to load the image on a different page by clicking on it. The other features from this theme include are a multi-level dropdown menu, parallax sections that enables beautiful scrolling effect with images applied, google map section, color swatches and more.

Fashe
This one is a very interesting case. Originally Fashe was designed to be a premium Shopify theme in their mind, but then Colorlib decided to test the waters and give it away for free. Because of that, this theme has a design that would normally only be found in many premium Shopify themes. So maybe Fashe could be the only Shopify theme you’ll ever need out of all other free themes.
Fashe is a minimal, modern-looking fashion theme but it can also be used for anything else regardless if it’s a fashion store or not. Not only that, it’s also available in plain HTML in case you want to convert it to be used for other platforms. It offers a nice features like slide-show collections, Instagram feed, lookbook feature where you can tell your story about your brand with image collection and other cool features. Simple
As simple as it says. Simple is a clean and minimal free Shopify theme, a perfect way for showcasing your products. By being simple, it’s easy to set up and be ready with the up and running store. As for the features, it has a sidebar menu, slideshow images for the home page menu, product image zoom and Product recommendations.

Minimal
Minimal as it can be. We have another one on the list and this one is Minimal. Again as it says by its name this free Shopify theme is simple with a clean design and with a focus of showcasing the products. This theme has some really nice layout in the demo especially the Fashion one and the features for this theme includes google maps, home page video, slideshow, product image zoom, product filtering, product recommendations and more. Annabelle is absolutely amazing for a free theme when you look at it. This free Shopify theme is fully responsive and elegantly versatile. It almost feels like a premium theme. The theme is also easily customizable which gives you extensive control over its style and behavior allowing you to create a unique eCommerce store. Ok, now we are starting from themes made by Zemes. Personally I have to say, this theme is by far one my favorite out of many other Shopify free themes on the list so far in design-wise. Styler is an amazingly stylish and fully responsive free theme, easy to edit and get around it. Classygift
In this list, we have a Classygift. A fine yet simple that creates a soft atmosphere of comfort. The theme is designed for online gift stores, flower stores, accessories stores, and hand made products stores. And I have to agree with the theme description, it’s very important to have a good looking website to attract customers to your online store and have a good product to present at the same time.
Classygift is a fully editable theme. I think this one also would be very ideal for an electronic gadget store, and an electronic equipment store. That type of theme layout design would really suit well for that kind of product as well, wouldn’t you agree? But again as always, you can use it for any other type of online store product that would suit well for that theme.

Well, you know where this is going? Yes, this theme is mostly suited for medical equipment. However, but I still think it’s a really nice free Shopify theme worth being included on the list.

Last but not least we have Narrative. This free Shopify theme is also my favorite in design-wise. Is this actually a free theme at all? It feels too good to be true. I would not even realize this is a free Shopify theme, it looks so premium like a disguise. It may look amazing but does it execute well? You will have to see and try.
Anyway, Narrative is perfect for a brand and product storytelling thanks to its elegant design that adds professionalism to your brand. This theme comes with a full-screen video featuring an autoplay that you can use to tell a story. Features customizable image blocks, quote, slides that you can showcase the finer details of your product. It also has a fixed navigation, wide layout high-resolution imagery with a full-width layout and it built for small catalog products.
